Financial Information

Current tuition for the Ophthalmic Technician Program is $9,690 plus student fees, parking, books, and if necessary, health insurance.

On-campus housing is not available for allied health program students. Off-campus housing information is available from the Duke Community Housing Office.

Students are required to have reliable personal transportation during their clinical rotations, to travel to our satellite offices and affiliate locations. Student parking is assigned.  Duke bus transportation is available for on-campus travel.

The Ophthalmic Technician Program is under the sponsorship of Duke Eye Center and Duke School of Medicine Allied Health Programs.  The program is internationally accredited by the International Council of Accreditation for Allied Ophthalmic Education Programs (ICA-AOEP).

Program Expenses

A $50 non-refundable application fee is required to submit your application.  The application fee is not applied to tuition.

Upon acceptance to the program, you will be required to pay a $500.00 non-refundable tuition deposit online.  This payment is applied to your tuition but is not eligible to be included in financial aid. 

Matching blue or black scrubs are required for clinical rotations. You are responsible for the cost of scrubs.
