Duke Eye Center has partnered with ReSpectacle, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that redistributes quality, used eyeglasses to those who may be struggling to obtain them through conventional means.
Freedman Shares Her Path to Becoming an Outstanding Educator with AGS
Sharon Freedman, MD was honored with the prestigious Outstanding Educator Award during the annual meeting of the America Glaucoma Society (AGS) this past spring, an award that recognizes her consistent and extraordinary commitment to advancing glaucoma education to residents, fellows, and colleagues including over 30 years of service with Duke Eye Center.
Venkatkrish Kasetty, MD Honored with 2024 Heed Fellowship
We are proud to announce that incoming vitro-retinal surgery fellow, Venkatkrish M. Kasetty, MD has been honored with the 2024 Heed Fellowship by the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation. Kastetty is currently completing an ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and will begin his two-year fellowship in July 2024.
Duke Retina Faculty Present at Retina World Congress
Five members of the Duke Retina Division, including division chief Glenn Jaffe, MD participated in the 2024 Retina World Congress in Fort Lauderdale, Florida May 9-12, 2024. Along with Jaffe, Durga Borkar, MD, MMCi, Sharon Fekrat, MD, FARS, FASRS, Dilraj Grewal, MD, FASRS, and Lejla Vajzovic, MD, FASRS all led sessions, presented, and served as moderators and panelists throughout the meeting.
